Abstract. Alcohol-related disorders are with high economic burden and are not only associated with serious somatic complications, but also with a number of psychiatric complications in the form of psy¬chotic disorders. Various disorders as alcohol hallucinosis and alcohol paranoid, resembling endogenous diseases, can arise under the influence of a common exogenous etiological factor – the alcohol. In the context of withdrawal syndrome, the manifestations could range from emergencies developing acutely as alcohol delirium, to conditions with longer duration and the possibility of persisting clinical manifesta¬tions as chronic alcohol hallucinosis. Knowledge of these conditions is important not only for differential diagnosis, but also is with implications for risk assessment, prognosis, and type of treatment.
Key words: alcohol, delirium, hallucinosis, psychotic disorders
