Abstract. The article provides an overview of key orientations in the conceptualization of “norm” and “pathology”, as well as “disease” and “health”, within the field of medical sciences, with a particular focus on neuropsychology. It examines the intricate relationship between an individual’s personality, or system of meanings through which they interpret themselves and interact with others, and the deficits arising from impairments. By introducing the concept of “possibility”, the article establishes a critical theoretical bridge that connects these domains, highlighting its significance for therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions.
