Abstract. The purpose of the article is to describe the attitude of the Bulgarian psychiatrists to psychoanalysis as theory and practice, and how they understand and analyze it. The main points of their criticism or support are described. The main conclusion that emerges is that, in general, the attitude towards psychoanalysis is critical, and to some extent contradictory. The evaluation of psychoanalysis is done from different ideological and methodical standpoints.
